SDG&E Sponsors The Navy Bay Bridge Run/Walk

San Diego Gas & Electric is pleased, once again, to sponsor the Navy’s annual Bay Bridge Run/Walk. This year’s four-mile run/walk, scheduled for May 20, 2007, will start in the Gaslamp District, go over the Bay Bridge and end in Tidelands Park, Coronado.

Participants of all ages compete in various divisions for prizes autographed by the San Diego Padres. Each participant receives a free ticket to the Memorial Day Padres Game. Event includes a vendor fair, entertainment, awards ceremony and drawing prizes. Also, there will be a VIP tent for employees and their families and friends after the race with a complimentary continental breakfast.

As a sponsor, Sempra/SDG&E employees and family members are eligible to receive a discounted registration rate for the Run/Walk. Employees, their family and friends are eligible to receive a nearly half-price discount on entry fees. All funds raised will benefit Navy Quality of Life programs which helps military families in need.

Here is more information about the event.

You can sign up yourself, family and friends. You will also find more race and event information. Please register by May 11 and remember to mail in your payment to Raveena Bridinger at HQ10E.

We will provide the Navy and race organizers with your sign up information, and then send you your t-shirt and race number. We hope you find this process simpler and easier.

Look for more information about the Run/Walk in the weeks to come including a story in the Sempra Energy Daily News. In fact, if you know of a story or a military family specifically helped or touched by our support of the Navy’s Morale, Welfare & Recreation programs, please share with us at community@sempra.com. We would love to highlight the reasons why we support and partner with the military on this fun, but important, event.
